Finance Director - 2 days per month - London

Our client, in the not-for-profit sector supports pioneering work in the fields of human rights, equality and the environment. This is a wonderful opportunity for a Finance Director with charity experience to make a valuable contribution on a 2 days per month basis. 

In addition to playing a key role as part of a small, collegiate team, this is also an opportunity to contribute to an organisation that is forward thinking in areas that are of huge significance and relevance such as human rights and ESG investment principles.

Reporting into the COO, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Senior Finance Officer in the production of monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Preparation of reporting around the valuation and progress of investment of the endowment fund for the Board of Trustees.
• Working with the Senior Finance Office to ensure timely presentation of the annual accounts and financial statements to the board and a clean audit report.
• Provide oversight of all tax issues including the preparation of annual returns and advice on internal practice.

About you:

• You are a fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• You have demonstrable knowledge of charity SORP and ideally wider charity commission experience.
• You have an understanding of the reporting requirements around investment.
• You appreciate the value of the work of the organisation.

This role is ideally suited to an experience finance professional who is looking for 2 days per month and is open to individuals for whom this would run alongside other interests including consulting work or another part-time role.  It provides the opportunity to use your finance experience in a values-driven, altruistic organisation.

Flexibility: 2 days per month (possibly increasing slightly to 3 or 4 days in preparation for audit)
Location: West London
Salary: circa £90k or equivalent day rate
