Billing and Debt Team Manager - 4 or 5 days per week - Hybrid Working

We are working with a thriving health and social care charity to recruit a Billing and Debt Team Manager for their Commercial Finance Team.  This appointment is part of their ongoing transformation project within the Finance Team as a whole and as such presents and exciting opportunity to take an essential and high profile role within the team.  As well as taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Billing Team, you will also to take the initiative in identifying and championing potential improvements in the way things are done.

Reporting into the Head of Commercial Finance and with the support of the Finance Senior Leadership Team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Business as Usual
    • Management of the Billing Team
    • Working with the IT Finance Team to ensure the billing system meets business needs and is being utilised efficiently
    • Handling customer escalations, refund approvals, month-end debt reporting, reconciliations and debt reserve
    • Taking responsibility for the debt collection process, leading the over £10k debt committee, liaising with the legal team and administrators to ensure debt is minimised and collected promptly
  • Delivering Change
    • Working closely with the Head of Commercial Finance, Director of Finance and other key stakeholders to take an active involvement in making improvements in the areas of billing and debt.    This could include system development, process change and/or standardisation of processes

  • You have relevant practical experience of financial operations, with a focus on billing and debt
  • You gain significant satisfaction out of improving operational KPIs and processes
  • You are highly organised with strong analytical skills
  • You have experience of managing a team
  • You have outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • You are action-orientated and enjoy working at pace

 

Flexibility: 4 or 5 days per week, hybrid with 3 days per week in North London office
